15/11/18 – Basketball

The Berkeley took two teams to Brine Leas today to take part in a basketball competition.  After both teams won their first match, the remaining games were all very close and ended in a few games being drawn and two narrow losses.  It was great to see the children working together as a team and never giving up - well done!

13/11/18 – KS1 Indoor Athletics

Twenty of our Year 2 children attended an Indoor Athletics Festival at South Cheshire College today to take part in six different events, including throwing, jumping and running.  Our children were a credit to the school in the way they performed and their behaviour was outstanding.  It was great to see so many mums and dads come along to watch and cheer on the children.  Well done to all the children involved; we are really proud of you!

15/10/18 – Change 4 Life Champions Training

Six of our Year 5/6 children were chosen to attend a Change4Life Champions Training Workshop at South Cheshire College. These children are members of the sports council and were taught new skills so that they can help to organise and deliver activities in school to encourage everyone to be active at playtimes. The children were fantastic ambassadors for the school and came back with lots of ideas that they want to try out.

12/10/18 – Year 2 Football

The Year two children who took part were fantastic ambassadors for our school and not only played brilliantly well (won 3, drew 3 and lost only one) but also behaved in such a sensible way. We are really proud of all the children who took part as this was the first time many of these children has represented The Berkeley against other schools.

11/10/18 – Girls’ Football

This year we had a huge interest in girls’ football in KS2 and therefore took three Y5/6 teams and two Y3/4 teams to take part at Crewe Alex Soccer Centre. It was great to see the girls playing with such enthusiasm in the event and we were delighted that one of our Year 5/6 teams came 2nd and one of our Year 3/4 teams won the event and will now represent Crewe and Nantwich in a county final.

04/10/18 – Tag Rugby

Over thirty children from Year 5/6 represented The Berkeley at the tag rugby competition at The Vagrants today. We were able to enter three teams with many children representing the school for the first time. After beating several schools in their group, one of our teams took part in a final group of games against other winning schools. The Berkeley were the winners of this and therefore won the whole competition. These children will now represent Crewe and Nantwich at the County finals in the Spring term.
