We appreciate the impact schools closing will have, not just on the children’s education but also on their social and emotional wellbeing and that of our families. We have set up work areas for each year group on our website.
Your child will come home with an exercise book for recording learning in, a pencil and a pack of resources to supplement the work we will be putting on the website.
On your child’s class page of the school website there will be tabs to click on containing ‘English’ learning and ‘Maths’ learning. These will be update each week so that there are 5 days worth of activities each week. There will also a tab for ‘Topic’ learning which will be a research piece linked to the class topic. A message will also be posted daily from the class teacher with any other additional information that is relevant to your child.
We anticipate that more educational resource sites will put learning packs online over the coming weeks and we will direct parents to the ones we feel are most relevant for your child.
One of the educational resources now available for free is Twinkl who have set up an offer to support parents at home. Go to https://www.twinkl.co.uk/offer with the code UKTWINKLHELPS where you will find lots of parental guidance and resources to support your child during this time.
Teachers will be available to answer questions or queries via the teacher email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be very mindful however that staff may be caring for young families, elderly parents or themselves during this challenging time. We would ask for kindness in all communications.
