LO: I can use adjectives to create a detailed character.
Watch the clip of George’s Marvellous Medicine below. In it, we hear lots of description about Grandma. I would like you to create your own character who is also horrible and vile and who you would like to make a medicine for. Think about all the horrible characters in the Roald Dahl and David Walliams books to help you. It could be a horrible member of your family, a dentist, a next-door neighbour, even a teacher (although we all know they are lovely). Draw a picture of your character and then write a set of adjectives (describing word) to describe their: height, how they look, what they wear, how they talk and their personality. We don’t need to put our words into sentences, just write them in a list so it helps create a detailed image of what your character is like.
I have put two word mats below to help you to think of appropriate adjectives.
