Welcome to the Year 6 Summer Term homepage
OUR THEME FOR THIS HALF TERM IS
Ernest Shackleton was an explorer who lived in the early 20th Century. He is probably most famous for his expedition to Antarctica on the ship Endurance. We will be learning about the struggles he faced and events that happened during that long and eventful trip.
We will be writing some narrative pieces and a magazine article.
This half term we will be sharing a range of different books and developing our understanding of vocabulary.
The books we will be reading are:
Coastlines - Susie Brooks
Overheard in a tower block - Joseph Coelho
The Island at the end of everything - Kiran Millwood- Hargrave
Orphan of the Tide - Struan Murray
Study of the artists Nerys Levey and Elyse Dodge

For your weekly homework, please go to the 'Homework' tab below. There you will find links to the homework that you are required to complete each week.
If you need to complete a written piece, please make sure that you return this by using Teams (we are sure that you will be familiar with this by now!)
Otherwise, follow the instructions given and follow any links that we provide for you.
Homework will usually be set on a Friday and we will expect it to be completed - either online, or by Teams, by the following Wednesday.
Always remember to check in on Teams each Friday, as we will use this to post any messages we need to pass on to you!
