Planning Lesson - The Greatest Invention. 1

For today’s task, you are going to be planning for a paragraph of writing about ‘The Greatest Invention’. Your job is to think for 5-10 minutes about what youthink is the greatest invention.  Remember this is your opinion and you are trying to persuade me that this invention is very important. You may need to research the invention that you choose.

 

Once you have thought and researched the invention that you have chosen, you need to bullet point some reasons why your invention is important. You might want to answer these questions.

 

  • What is it?
  • Why is it important?
  • What is it used for?
  • When was it invented?
  • How did it change people’s lives?
  • What would the world be like without it?

 

 

Don’t worry about grouping your facts together yet. Just concentrate on learning about your chosen invention and listing the facts ready for tomorrow’s writing task.

SPaG - I can put sentences into paragraphs.

Thursday – Put these sentences into paragraphs.

 

Look at these sentences from yesterday’s SPaG. You should have worked out which sentences belong grouped together. Today’s task is to copy out the sentences into your book in the form of three paragraphs. Remember to leave a gap at the beginning of the line where the paragraph starts and also leave a line in between each paragraph.You will be editing this tomorrow so space your work out and keep it neat as you will need a short paragraph for each of the areas of the house.
