For today’s task, your job is to do a lot of thinking. So far in the story, there are five golden tickets and four have already been found. The first four finders are awful children: Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde and Mike Teavee. Your task is to create another awful child to receive the final golden ticket.
You don't need to write anything down today; all I'd like you to do is read and plan. Think about what makes your child awful and unworthy of a ticket. I'd like you to draw the child and their family and think about where in the world they live. Draw them in as much detail as possible as this will make tomorrow’s task easier for you.
The only thing that I'd like you to write is the name of your character and also any family member’s names. Think about how Roald Dahl names characters. What do the names make you think when you say them aloud?
Are there any clues about their personalities in these names?
Enjoy yourself and be creative. Use Roald Dahl and David Walliams as inspiration but be yourself when creating your character. I have included some links below which will hopefully help to inspire you.
