Friday 24th April 2020

Good morning Year 1 it's Friday!

We hope you enjoyed the update from Millie the dog yesterday and that you've all had another great week of home learning. We have loved seeing all of your smiling faces on Seesaw and are so proud of your hard work.

It looks like you've all enjoyed making up your own versions of Handa's Surprise and having a go at all of the African crafts, especially the necklaces they're amazing well done!

As it's Friday we thought you might like to start the day with a little dance...it's called the Banana Boogie, so click on the link below and enjoy!

P.S Why can't Elsa have a balloon?

...because she will let it go!!

Have a great day!

Year 1 team.

A Millie the dog update.

Millie and I have taken up running to stay active during the lockdown and we took part in our 5k doggie dash. It wasn’t a real race we just had to run and then post our evidence. We succeeded and Millie was rewarded with a medal for her hard work!

She doesn’t seem impressed she can’t eat it though...

Thursday 23rd April

Good morning little buddies! How are you doing today? Hope you’re still working hard and helping out where you can around the home, I know everyone will appreciate the help!

The work for today is very exciting, you’re going to be inventing your own story in literacy with a new main character and 7 different fruits and animals to create a surprise!

In maths there are some true or false questions about the 2,5 and 10 times tables you have been practising this week. Why not use your groups of objects to help you solve the questions?

Keep us up to date on seesaw and keep smiling.

P.s What do you get when you cross an elephant with a fish?

Swimming trunks!

Good morning Year 1 Happy Wednesday! Can you believe we are halfway through another week of home learning already!

We have loved seeing all of your home learning posts on Seesaw it looks like you're all working hard, and most importantly, having lots of fun!

You are going to be using your fantastic story maps to write sentences about each part of the story today, don't forget those capital letters, finger spaces and full stops!

In Maths you are going to be carrying on counting in twos, fives and tens you can use your objects from yesterday to help if you need to.

Enjoy your day!

P.S What do you call a sad strawberry?

...a blueberry!!

Tuesday 21st April

Good morning little buddies, the sun is still shining and it’s still the summer term. I hope it lasts a lot longer so my plants can grow! I’ve sent a picture of the celery I put in my bowl yesterday, it looks like it’s starting to grow again already!

Our work for today is in the usual places, but again, if you need to listen to Mrs Kofon read the story of Handa’s surprise the video is still there. Good luck, and how surprised were you when Handa lost all her fruit to those cheeky animals?

Now for a joke

What do you call an alligator in a vest?

An investigator!
