Good morning everyone we’ve made it to the end of another week! Whether you’ve been working hard in school or at home you deserve a huge WELL DONE!!

Today in English, you will be learning all about exclamation marks! In Maths, your final lesson of money is all about counting in coins.

Your morning challenge today is to solve the nature riddles below good luck!

Have a great weekend!

Year 1 team.

P.S.

If a seagull flies over the sea, what flies over the bay?

...a bagel!!

Thursday 2nd July

Good morning little buddies, it was another strange day for weather yesterday, quite warm at times but also raining! If you could still bring your coats we will try and spend more time outside even if its drizzling!

Our literacy today is looking at prefixes, specifically adding the prefix un to the start of words. I bet your work will be UNbelievable! See what I did there?

For maths we are progressing our knowledge of money by looking at the bigger values, the notes! Very exciting indeed, I know we worked hard on the coins yesterday.

Good luck, and keep smiling!

Tuesday 30th June

Its the last day of June! Can you believe it? I am hopeful that the weather will improve again, its was a bit miserable again yesterday. If anyone carried on with their weather diary I'd love to know how many days it rained in June!

Today in maths we are ordering numbers within 100, so make sure you practise your counting in tens as a warm up.

In literacy we are looking at adding ing to the end of words (I did it already!) there is even a bingo game you can play!

As ever, it has been wonderful to see you around school again, and your smiles have kept us cheerful!

P.s.When does it rain money?

When there is a change in the weather!

Monday 29th June 2020

Hello Year 1

It's Monday again! It is so lovely being back in school teaching some of you again. We know how hard you are all working whether that is at home or in school and we are so proud of each and every one of you. If you are working at home please remember to email or post on SeeSaw to share what you have been doing as we love to see you.

This week in literacy you are going to be working on your SPaG skills and in maths you are going to be partitioning numbers. I have also set you a superhero craft under the Topic and 'Arts & Crafts' tab. Can you create your own Superhero Jetpack like the one below? We were so impressed with your superhero writing last week we thought this would be a fun activity to do. Please don't worry if you don't have all the items on the instructions, you can just use whatever you have around the house - the more inventive the better!

Have a great week everyone,

Year 1 Team

P.S Which superhero uses public transport?
