Welcome to the 2025–2026 School Council page

The Berkeley Academy School Council is made up of representatives from Year 3 to Year 6 who are elected each year by their classmates. The council works closely with staff to share pupil voice, support decision-making within school and organise important events that help our school community and support a range of charities.

The council have been very busy this year helping to organise and run several successful events. One of the first events of the year was the Macmillan Bake Sale, where council members helped to sell the amazing cakes and treats donated by families. At the same time, the council supported the running of the Scholastic Book Fair, helping children and parents choose books and making sure the event ran smoothly for everyone.

In November, the School Council supported the Poppy Appeal. Members helped to print posters, organise collections and sell poppies around school to help raise money and awareness for this important cause.

The council also helped to promote key national awareness events in school. During Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, members supported activities across the school and helped to remind everyone about the importance of talking about feelings and looking after our wellbeing. The council also helped raise money and awareness for Children in Need, encouraging pupils to get involved and support the charity.

Promoting a strong sense of community is an important part of the School Council’s role. This year, council members helped organise Comic Relief sketch shows, with each year group performing a short sketch to entertain the school while raising money for charity. The event was a fantastic way to bring the school together while supporting an important cause.

The School Council continues to work hard throughout the year to represent pupil voices, support charitable events and help make Berkeley Academy a positive and caring community for everyone.
