School Council

Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Council page

 

The Berkeley Academy School Council is comprised of members from Year 3 to Year 6 who are elected each year to assist with decisions made within school and to organise important events during the school year.

 

The council have been busy so far this year helping to organise events such as the Macmillan Coffee Morning and book fair which was an incredible success for all council members - especially as they also had to take charge of helping children and parents to make some very difficult decisions about which books to buy from the book fair which also arrived in school just in time for the Macmillan event!

Council members took charge in selling the incredible cake contributions and also ensured that the sales from the book fair ran smoothly.

 

In the approach to the festive season, the council ensured that the delivery of Christmas cards around school ran as smoothly as possible, with delivery to every classroom made each day! The biggest event however was the council’s part in helping to organise the ever-popular Elf-run, which saw the entire school out enjoying the seasonal weather to have some Christmas fun. The event is so important as it helps to raise awareness of the excellent work of St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice. We are so grateful to St Luke’s for the donations of the Elf hats and to Mornflake for the provision of a porridge pot for every child. The members of the school council ensured that each class was equipped with their hats and ready to go – leading to the smooth running of the event.
