Reading Update

As mentioned at the recent curriculum meeting, your child will be bringing home two reading books each week.

One of these books is from the Little Wandle scheme. Your child will read this book 3 times per week with an adult in school before bringing it home to read too. 

The second book is a Reading for Pleasure book. This book is chosen independently by your child and is not based on their reading level. It is simply for you to enjoy reading together at home. These books are intended to foster a love of reading and can be changed by your child as often as needed — we are encouraging independence with this process.

• Little Wandle books will be changed weekly.

• Reading for Pleasure books can be changed independently by your child whenever they are ready for a new one.
   

Please remember to record any reading at home in your child’s planner.
