Reading Update

As mentioned at the recent curriculum meeting, your child will be bringing home two reading books each week.

One of these books is from the Little Wandle scheme. Please note that these books are currently being phased out. We are waiting for a new set of Year 2 reading books to arrive, and in the meantime, children will continue to receive Little Wandle books to ensure they still have access to appropriate reading material.

The second book is a Reading for Pleasure book. This book is chosen independently by your child and is not based on their reading level. It is simply for you to enjoy reading together at home. These books are intended to foster a love of reading and can be changed by your child as often as needed — we are encouraging independence with this process.

Little Wandle books will be changed every Friday.
Reading for Pleasure books can be changed independently by your child whenever they are ready for a new one.

Please remember to record any reading at home in your child’s planner.
