During this half term, Year 3 will use the vehicle text ‘Bee’ by Charlotte Voake to inspire their writing. They will began the half term by writing an information text which will include key facts and information about bees. The children will then write a diary account as Theo (the main character) who became a bee for the day after watching his hive in his garden. The children will continue the half term by retelling the story. This will allow them to secure their knowledge of direct speech. At the end of the half term, Year 3 will write a ‘Saving the bees’ report which will highlight just how vital bees are to our ecosystem. Finally, the children will write two poems all about bees!
