Co-opted Governor

I was nominated as a parent governor at The Berkeley in Feb 2013 and prior to this I was a parent governor for approximately 18 months at Brockwell Nursery and Infant School in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. I am now a Co-opted Governor and Member of the Trust Board as well as Vice Chair of Governors.

My role has subsequently developed and now incorporates a number of special responsibilities including link governor for Inclusion with responsibilities for Special Educational Needs and Pupil Premium, Link Governor for Science, where I work together with the School Science leads to ensure all pupils can access Science learning and the profile of this increasingly important subject remains upmost within school, Link Governor for attendance and the Chair of the Curriculum Committee, where our work entails ensuring statutory national requirements are met as well as ensuring the school provides a balanced and broadly based curriculum. Additionally, I am member of the Pay and Performance Committee and have been involved in the Multi Academy Trust working Group. I want every child to get the best possible start in life and fully reach their potential, something I know everyone at The Berkeley is committed to.

In my working life I am the UK Business Development Manager for a Scandinavian manufacturer of safety products for industry. I have worked in the commercial environment predominantly sales and marketing for approximately 25 years in various sectors as diverse as automotive, steel, international freight and personal protective equipment. In my spare time I like to keep active, socialise with family and friends, visit new places and eat and prepare good food.
