Co-opted Governor

I am delighted to be joining the governing body of The Berkeley Academy from January 2022 and bring my passion about making a difference to children’s education to this role. I have over 30 years experience in primary education as a classroom teacher, member of the senior leadership team and more recently as deputy headteacher at Pikemere Primary school. In my leadership roles, I have had experience of strategic planning, curriculum development, safer recruitment and safeguarding responsibilities. In addition, I am passionate about supporting the emotional health and well-being of pupils and staff.

Not only have I been privileged to have been part of other children’s learning journeys, I consider my greatest achievement has been as a mum to my own four children. Having seen three of them married, I have also recently become a granny and look forward to watching how our family grows and develops over the coming years. My family are a huge part of my life and any spare time I do have is spent walking, exploring the Cheshire countryside with my husband.

I am really looking forward to working with the Berkeley governing body to further support and enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all pupils.
