Maths

We are having a huge focus on times tables at the minute so your homework this week is to go on Times Tables Rockstars as much as possible.  The aim is to first of all know all of your 2 times tables and then to practise getting quicker and quicker.  Knowing your times tables is about being able to recall the answer instantly without having to work it out so that is what we are aiming for!  We will be checking each week to see who has gone 'above and beyond' to learn their times tables.  Good luck rockstars!

By the end of Year 2, children need to be able to instantly recall the facts for the 2, 5 and 10 times tables along with the inverse.

Reading

We haven't given any specific reading homework this week as we would like you to focus on your times tables as much as possible.

We would still like you to read out loud to an adult as much as possible. If you are using Accelerated Reader please complete the quiz after each book you read. 

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU RECORD YOUR READING IN YOUR PLANNERS 

Can we ask that Little Wandle books are returned each Thursday, ready for the new book to be sent home for the following week.

Spellings

Below is the list of common exception words that children in Year 2 are expected to know how to spell by the end of the year. If you could practise these with your children it would really benefit them as the year progresses.
